September 7 – Kick-Off Cook Out (special time 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.)
Join us in Room 102 and then out on the church playground for games, food and fellowship. We will roast hot dogs, make smores and play games. Chaperones and fire pits needed.
September 14 – Speaking and Listening
How do you “talk” to God and even more important how do you listen to make sure you hear his response. Come and learn some tips on how to decipher the answer to prayer.
September 21 - The Gifts of the Spirit
Did you know you have special gifts – everyone does! Come and learn how to discover your special gifts from God and how to use them to make this world a more loving place.
September 28 – Building Character - Honesty
Sometimes it’s really hard to tell what the truth is and even harder to live by it. Learn who is always there to help you figure out the right thing to do and give you the courage to do it.
October 4 – Putt Putt Golf Kingstown (Saturday special time 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.)
We will meet at the church and caravan over to
October 11 - Food Bank (Saturday – special time 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

October 19 – Building Character – Trustworthiness
Remember the little boy that cried wolf – he didn’t end up very happy. Join us and hear how earning and keeping people’s trust is one of the most important gifts we can give ourselves.
October 26 – Building Character - Kindness
It’s not always easy to be kind but it is always the best choice. Come and see how you can get help from the Holy Spirit to make kindness your choice every time.
November 2 – Building Character – Patience
God grant me patience - but hurry please! Instant gratification is a way of life these days – come and learns to slow down and be patient.
November 9 – Making Sundaes on Sunday
Bring your favorite ice cream topping to share. We will provide the rest. Make a Sundae and then have a blast playing Bible Jeopardy.
November 16 – Building Character - Humility
Do you see being humble as a weakness? Guess again - it will make you stronger than steel because it will put God on your side.
November 23 – Building Character – Generosity
Don’t let the Midas touch take hold of you – learn how to give and enjoy it! It really is true that to give is to receive.
November 30 - No AFO – Thanksgiving
December 6 – Santa’s Elves (Saturday special time 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. NO meeting on Sunday at 6:30) Help load Santa’s sleigh - or pick-up truck in this case. We will deliver toys collected by the Day School to United Community Ministries Christmas Closet. Drivers and chaperones needed. Please meet in Room 102.
December 14 – Making Christmas Gifts (6:30 to 8:00 pm)
Come and enjoy making your own Christmas gifts. The kids will choose in advance what they want to make for friends and family. We will circulate a list of gift ideas starting in November for the kids to choose from. Chaperones needed to help with gift making. We will meet upstairs in Room 202.
December 21 – Christmas Caroling (Special time – 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
Don’t miss this annual event. We go caroling and then come back to the church for cookie decorating (and eating) and delicious hot chocolate. This year we are going to Paul Spring Retirement Community and we will carol through the halls. Chaperones and drivers needed. Please meet in Wesley Hall.
December 28 - No AFO - Christmas
January 4 – No AFO - New Years
January 11 – Celebrating Differences
How do we deal with people that are different from us? That would be everyone since we are all unique. Come and see how boring it would be if we were all alike and then you truly can celebrate differences.
January 19 – No AFO – Martin Luther King Day and Inauguration
January 27 – Food Bank Kid’s Café Trip (Tuesday, special time 12:30 to 3:30 pm)
We will return to the Food Bank to work in the Kid’s Café area. This area only takes volunteers on weekdays so we thought this would be a great activity for the long weekend. Hope you can join us. The Kid’s Café is a special part of the Food Bank that provides snack to thousands of area school children. Drivers and chaperones needed. Please watch your e-mail for further details.

February 8 - No More Sesame Street – Please
Sick of being treated like a little kid – come and learn how to get the respect and independence you want. Hint – it may take a little growing up!
February 15 – How to Relate to Parents – Yes, it’s Possible!
Parents really aren’t the enemy they just appear to be. Come and learn some tricks to have your parents eating out of your hand (well almost).
February 22 – Pizza and Game Night
Come enjoy pizza and a chance to win “Who Wants to be a Bible Millionaire”.
March 1 – But It’s Fun to Fight with My Brother!
Even if you don’t have a sibling, come and learn how to get along with those closest to you. Remember, bickering isn’t the only source of entertainment out there.
March 8 – Fact or Fantasy
Is it real or do you just wish it were? Come and see that if it looks too good to be true then it probably is.
March 14 – Laser Tag (Saturday, special time - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.)
We will welcome Tom’s Laser Tag to Aldersgate for the third year. Chaperones needed. Please watch you e-mail for further details.
March 22 – Winning Isn’t Everything
Did you know that behind every successful person are a lot of important failures? Remember, winning isn’t real unless it’s fair.
March 29 – Spiritual Disciplines
Can discipline ever be fun? The rewards sure are! Come and learn what Christian practices can bring to your life.
April 5 - No AFO - Spring Break
Don’t forget the Aldersgate Easter Egg Hunt for all preschool and elementary kids at 3:00 p.m. on the church grounds.
