MISSION BLOGS, PHOTOS & VIDEO
Read blogs this summer from individuals interning with our mission partners as well as from youth and adults participating with Aldersgate's 2011 summer mission trips. New links will be added as these people travel and send us information.
SPY (Service Projects for Youth)
High School Youth and Chaperones traveled to rural western Virginia at the end of June, 2011. They were split into two work teams while at SPY. View the videos made by Teer Hardy to see their work (and play) while on this mission trip.

Aldersgate Cambodia Intern: Laina Schneider (July - Laina has returned home!)

I am a rising sophomore at Virginia Tech, studying Agronomy with focuses in International and Civic Agriculture. I am currently in Cambodia for one month, where I will be trying to gain hands on experience for what I am studying, while simultaneously working with the Methodist church here. This week I, along with Mark Gunggoll, are staying at the COSI youth village, a boarding school for underprivileged youths from broken homes. Here they can attend public school as well as augment their studies with english classes and religious education from COSI staff and missionaries. Mark and I are currently developing a prospective itinerary for a two mission mission trip for 2012. There are a lot of exciting projects and opportunities to support this program. Tomorrow, Mark will be returning to the United States and I will be meeting up with the missionary Katherine Parker, who I will be shadowing the rest of the month. If you would like to know more about the COSI youth village, or what I am doing in Cambodia in general, I will be posting my experiences with pictures and video to my blog: www.lns3.wordpress.com
Aldersgate Guatemala Intern: Lucy Hardy

I am a Junior at Arcadia University. I am studying International Studies with a focus in Globalization, Development, and Human Rights. I just got back from Barcelona, Spain, after 4 months of studying there. My brother Teer and his wife Allison go to Aldersgate, and through them I can see the love this church provides for the community. I was raised to believe that God is love, and to love God is to serve God. My personal mission in Guatemala is to spread the love of God through loving and caring for the people I meet in service to the Mayan people in the Highland section of Guatemala. I will be posting to my blog about my work with Highland Support Program in Guatemala: http://hspadventure.blogspot.com/
