- 2026 Stewardship Campaign | Aldersgate UMC
Courageously living and sharing God's unconditional love every day, with everyone, everywhere. GIVE TO ALDERSGATE UMC Rooted in Christ Rooted in Christ helps remind us that, just like a towering Oak, we need to cultivate ourselves beginning at our foundation. We put down roots as we strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ. Often, that is cultivated within our building as we worship and grow in our faith. As we follow Jesus, we become united as part of the Body of Christ that is Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Together, we serve our community and branch out into the world. Each of these pieces comes together to form the living tree that is our Aldersgate family. Colossians 2:6-7 states, "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Our roots allow for stability, nourishment, and strength. Prayerfully consider how your monetary pledge can help us share God’s love with the world. Where will your gift go? Stewardship Testimonial Videos View the church's monthly financial reports Monthly Financial Reports Strengthen our church budget Keep our ministries and staff thriving. Pay down the debt on Shepherd’s Hall Free up future resources for ministry. Engage our community Extend Christ’s love to neighbors near and far. Support church programs Nurture discipleship, worship, and fellowship. Invest in children and youth ministries Ensure our youngest are grounded in faith. Protect the overall health of the church Aldersgate, which continues to remain a strong witness/foundation for generations. If you have not done so already, we invite you to make a commitment of your financial resources in 2026. Please consider renewing your pledge this year or making a new commitment if you have not been able to pledge in the past. Please know that all gifts of all amounts matter. Watch our video highlighting the ministries of Aldersgate UMC Rooted in Christ Campaign Financial Pledge Form Time & Talent Commitment Card Prayer Calendar Qualified Charitable Distribution Check out how we are keeping our ministries strong at Aldersgate 2025 Annual Giving Report Thank you for your contribution and commitment to Aldersgate UMC! Campaign Progress Goal: $1,100,000 Our Operating Budget The reason for making a pledged commitment is to support the annual expenses for the operating budget for the church. The operating budget is the cost of all the expenses of the church to include programs, missions, apportionments, salaries, overhead, etc. The total operating budget for 2026 is projected to be $1.7million. We rely on pledged commitments, non-pledged donations, and other revenue to meet these expenses. Our goal is to receive pledged commitments for a total of $1,100,000. Staff Salaries & Mission Funding in the Operating Budget Apportionments also support missions, and there are restricted funds designated for missions. Many members of the church support missions directly. Staff Salaries are distributed throughout each ministry pillar, given the incredible ministries and talent required for each staff member here at Aldersgate UMC. Giving Thoughts & Thanks Each fall, we invite our church family to prayerfully consider a commitment through our Annual Stewardship Campaign. These pledges help us plan responsibly for the year ahead — from the missions we’re able to support, to the ministries and events we can offer, and to the upkeep of our church home. We recognize that these are challenging times, many families are feeling added stress and financial strain. Please know that your giving is a deeply personal matter, and every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Scripture teaches that tithing, or giving a tenth of our income, is a spiritual goal that helps us grow in trust and generosity. But above all, we ask that you give as you are able and as your heart leads. Your faithful participation and presence in the life of our church are blessings we cherish.
- Aldersgate UMC | Shrove Tuesday Pancakes N' More Dinner
Join us for pancakes and more this Shrove Tuesday! EVENT INFORMATION < Previous Event Back to Upcoming Events Back Next Event > Shrove Tuesday Pancakes N' More Dinner CHURCH-WIDE EVENT Tuesday, Feb 17th | 6:00pm - 8:00pm [object Object] I know, I know--giving something up for Lent is tricky. But, it's one simple act of devotion we can embrace communally. Shared mindfulness on the road to deeper faithfulness. Beautiful. Also, that's totally a February 18 problem. On Tuesday, February 17, let's drive it like we stole it and eat some yummy breakfast for dinner. You like pancakes? We got pancakes. Eggs and meaty treats? Check. Maybe some fruit so Mom and Dad don't grouse? You got it. And best of all, you can be served in style by the Aldersgate Youth. And did I mention we are raising money for those same Youth to go on a summer Mission trip? It’s a win-win-win…well, I’m not sure how many wins we're looking at here, but it’s plenty. There might even be a fiercely friendly fundraising competition between staff members. Heads may not roll, but they might get shaved. Ice bucket challenge. Outdoors. The possibilities are endless. Who will take home the Trophy of Public Pratfalls? There's really only one way to find out. Mark your calendar for this fun family event. Come early, eat often. Hope to see you there! Any questions, please reach out to Andreas Barrett . It's almost that time of year. The time where we mindfully set aside our shared indulgent nature and ponder Christ's great gift of salvation. However, before we humbly walk that path, I have a question. To paraphrase the character Donkey from Shrek, you know what everybody likes? Pancakes! On Shrove Tuesday, we invite you to satisfy your inner donkey and get some amazing breakfast for dinner, prepared and served by Team Aldersgate Youth. While you are dining on the finest carbs in the DMV, you can feel great knowing your generous donations will benefit both your immediate church family and our greater community. And did I mention the eggs and sausage? You just can't lose! So, please tell a friend, locate your stretchy pants, and mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 4 in Wesley Hall at 6:00. It's going to be a hoot--we'll save you a seat! RSVP is requested so that we ensure we have enough food. Please CLICK HERE to RSVP. We ask for a Love Offering. You can donate whatever your family feels comfortable giving. Contributions can be made by check (payable to Aldersgate UMC with "Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner" in the note) or cash on the evening of the event. All donations will go toward supporting the youth's chosen missions including Alice's House, Christ House, Provision Kitchen, our various mission projects, and a much-needed Youth Room renovation! Youth who want to volunteer and have a great time are also asked to sign-up. Whether you can help at 4pm with setup and prep or join us at 6pm to cook and serve, we'd love your support! CLICK HERE for Youth Volunteer Sign-Up. For more information, please contact Bailey Johnson and Andreas Barrett at youth@aldersgate.net . < Previous Event Next Event >
- Aldersgate UMC | Rising Hope Food Market
The Rising Hope Food Market provides much-needed food to individuals and families in need along the Route 1 corridor. MISSION INFORMATION < Previous Back to Local Missions Next > Rising Hope Food Market Aldersgate UMC is proud to support the Food Market mission at Rising Hope Mission Church . What is the Rising Hope Food Market? The Rising Hope Food Market provides groceries to food insecure individuals and families in the community. Throughout the year, Aldersgate UMC collects food donations and delivers those goods to Rising Hope Mission Church. Rising Hope Mission Church then distributes the food donations to individuals and families in need on Wednesday from 1:30-3:30pm, and on Thursday from 10am-12pm and 1:30-5:30pm.
